I am honored to share the endorsements of Jeanne Stine, former Mayor of Troy, Dave Lambert, and Troy School District Board Members Audra Melton and Stephanie Zendler.

Jeanne and Dave are Troy legends, fierce advocates for the Troy Public Library and longtime leaders who have served our community for decades. Audra and Stephanie bring that same spirit of public service from our schools, where they’ve worked tirelessly to strengthen the connection between education, families, and city leadership.

Not only have they endorsed me, they’ve also shared invaluable advice and perspective that continues to shape my campaign and my vision for Troy’s future. Their wisdom reinforces why I’m running: to protect our green spaces, and to ensure that Troy’s firefighters, police, and EMS have the support they need.

I’m proud to have earned their trust, and I will work every day to earn yours.  Together, we’ll make Troy safer, stronger, and more accountable.

Why I am running for Troy City Council

As a Troy firefighter and lifelong community volunteer, I’ve dedicated my life to public service. From pulling hoses to supporting neighbors during emergencies, I know firsthand the importance of public safety. I’m running for City Council to strengthen police, fire, and EMS, and protect Troy’s green spaces. With experience in service and advocacy, I’ll ensure our city values those who serve and keeps Troy a safe, welcoming place for every family.

A lifetime of service

After De La Salle High School, I graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in Computer Science.

I spent 2 years in France/Monaco earning an MBA.  I lived and worked in Egypt during their revolution and then in Afghanistan for 3 years on several USAID and World Bank projects.  I settled in Troy in 2012 and returned from expatriate aid work in 2014.

In Afghanistan, I was the Director of the Afghanistan Infrastructure Database Center which oversaw quality assurance issues with building roads, schools, water, sanitation, and vertical structure projects.  We ensured that taxpayer money only went to firms when all standards and quality guidelines were met.

I was elected twice to be the President of the International Academy East’s Music Parents’ Association that worked to support the music program.

I have proudly served as a Troy Volunteer Firefighter for over 6 years at Station 5, dedicating an average of 108 hours per week to being on call. IN 2023, I spent a week in Ukraine delivering trucks and supplies. I joined Rotary Club in Troy to give back to the community and volunteer with A Vision for Clean Water.

Together... we can improve our great city

Troy is one of the best cities in Michigan in which to live. But that doesn't mean that we don't have our challenges.

We have lawyers, doctors, and engineers on our council. This past year has shown that we need someone on city council that has first responder experience, that knows about issues that affect us in a way that you can only know from real life experience.

When you elect me, what you get is someone that knows exactly which questions to ask, how to parse the answers, someone that can propose a viable, sustainable, fair incentive program to save our Fire Department so that we don't need to raise taxes.

I have proven in Afghanistan working on USAID and World Bank projects, and most recently with the City of Troy, that I have no problem doing the right thing even when it may be dangerous, or come at great personal, financial, and reputational cost. When it's the right thing to do, it's always the right thing to do.

Bring back ALL senior programs

We don't need studies to figure out what we've taken away; we just need to restore our senior programming and enhance it.

Support the Fire Department and Public Safety

We need people on council that do more than say they support public safety. We need people with hands on experience with public safety so that they know what that means.

Restore the Volunteer Firefighter incentive program to stop the exodus of dozens of experienced firefighters that have left since the city council broke it's bond with the fire department. The residents of Troy deserve better, and the brave men and women of the fire department deserve better.

Increase safety and support the police department

Address the shortage of police officers by advocating for pensions to attract and retain officers

Bring EMS In-House

In September, the council voted again to out source our EMS, which means that we can't rely on mutual aid from our neighboring cities, and will experience the same poor response times. Despite pie in the sky promises, the new provider is going to be more of the same.
