He smiles for the cameras,
He grins for the show,
Cuts a ribbon at noon,
While we freeze in the snow.
He’s sipping his champagne,
We’re choking on smoke.
He cashed out our pensions,
Left the rest of us broke.
He posts up his selfies,
We gear up and grind,
He abandoned the people
He was hired to protect, not blind.
So while he’s out dining,
All cozy and warm…
We’re carrying a city
He left in a storm.
No spotlight, no praise,
Just courage and grit.
He took what we earned…
But we’re not done fighting for it.
